The system has a passive part (1) which comprises a first half (5) of a magnet coupling. The active part (2) comprises a casing (6) in which is an electrical circuit, comprising a drive source (10), a reminder unit (11) and a second half (12) of the magnet coupling. The magnet coupling and the electric circuit are thereby broken when the door is closed and closed when the door is open for activation of the reminder unit. The magnet coupling active half (12) forming part of the circuit is fitted in one side of the casing (6) in order to permit use of the warning system on both the right and left-hung doors by turning the casing through 180 degrees in the vertical plane. The casing comprises a base (6) on which a cover is releasably fitted. |
