The invention concerns a novel method for making paper by forming and drying aqueous paper pulp containing cellulose paste and mineral fillers, consisting in incorporating in the parent paste before forming the sheet a gelling system comprising a polymer containing at least a hydroxyl group, and a crosslinking agent in aqueous solution containing a element selected among the group consisting of borate, zirconate, titanate and their mixture. The cross-linking agent/polymer weight ratio containing at least a hydroxyl group ranges between 0.025 to 2. |
