Method for monitoring a boiling water nuclear reactor installation with reference to drying-out of the core during operation, the internal condition of the reactor core being calculated with the aid of a core simulator (20) and the behaviour of the reactor installation being simulated during postulated transient processes with the aid of a transient analyser (22). The method is characterised by a risk determination (23) carried out continuously during the operation of the installation and using current data of the installation, in which the drying-out risk of the core is calculated, that is to say how large a proportion of the fuel rods of the core is exposed to the risk of drying out.
