PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satellite broadcast receiver capable of easily and automatically setting a converter frequency without the need of complicated setting in the case of use in a co-viewing reception system. SOLUTION: In steps S1-S3, frequency search is performed from the lowest frequency side of a frequency range that an intermediate frequency signal can take and the ID number information of the channel, the ID number information of all the channels used in broadcasting and polarization information are obtained from TS (transport stream) signals received first. In the steps S4 and S5, the frequency search is performed from a highest frequency side and the ID number information of the channel is obtained from the TS signals received first. In the steps S6-S8, the polarization of the TS signals of lowest and highest frequencies is identified and whether or not they are mutually different is judged. When they are different, a reception system for co-viewing is defined in the step S9 and the converter frequency is automatically set in the step S10. |
