PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a photographer to recognize whether he or she can focus a camera on an object intended by him or her through automatic focusing or not, while looking through a finder, in the camera provided with a finder system independently of a photographic lens system. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a real image type finder optical system, a real image type range finder optical system and an active system range-finding means. The finder optical system consists of a first objective optical system 10, an erect prism 80 and an eyepiece 50, and the range finder optical system is provided with a turnable mirror 40 and a second objective optical system 20. Luminous fluxes made incident through the objective optical systems 10 and 20 are made resultant by a half mirror 30 and the photographer can observe a double image at the center of the visual field of the finder. A control circuit 100 obtains the turning angle of the turnable mirror 40, based on a subject distance calculated on the basis of the output of a PSD element 72 and controls a mirror driving motor 110, based on the turning angle. The angle of the turnable mirror 40 is obtained so as to make the double image coincident with the object at the calculated subject distance. |
