PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an optimum route searching computation all the time without deepening on the data constitution of map data, by evaluating the data inputted by an input means by a predetermined method and processing the inputted data based on the optimum constant. SOLUTION: In an input means 101, the map data, which are formed in a standard format and have the intrinsic identification code (ID), are inputted from package media such as CDs. The input means 101 detects the ID of the inputted map data, judges whether the ID is the ID provided in a data processing system or not, the judges whether the data are map data used before or not. An evaluating means 102 performs automatic evaluation when it is judged that the map data inputted into the input means 101 are new. A constant guiding means 103 guides out the optimum constant for route computation based on the result of the automatic evaluation by the evaluating means 102. When the inputted map data are new, a processing means 105 uses the constant given from a memory means 104 and performs the route computation. |
