PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device constituted so that toner is prevented from being directly deposited on the surface of a developer carrier when the developing device is started to be used by previously filling a toner replenishment path with developer. SOLUTION: This developing device 1 is provided with the toner replenishment path 11 making a developer retention part 4 divided by a developer housing case 5 and a developer regulation member 9 communicate with a toner hopper part 10. The aperture part of the path 11 on the hopper part 10 side is closed by a hermetically sealing seal 14. Then, the path 11 and the retention part 4 are filled with the developer having a prescribed toner concentration. Besides, the aperture part of the path 11 on the developer carrier 7 side and the opening of the retention part 4 are closed by a hermetically sealing seal 15. Then, when the developing device 1 is used, the seals 14 and 15 are removed. Thus, the toner for replenishment 3 is prevented from entering the carrier 7 side by the developer of the path 1 until the toner in the developer is consumed by a developing action. |
