摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the low power consumption of a disk device being a unit constituting an FC-AL system. SOLUTION: A disk device 2 being a unit constituting an FC-AL system is provided with an FC-I/F controlling part 22, and this FC-IF controlling part 22 is provided with ports A3 and B4 for connection with two loops. Each port is provided with a transceiver (Tx) 10, receiver (Rx) 11, port controlling part 14, loop connection detecting part 23, and sleep supply controlling part 12. The loop connection detecting part 23 detects the connecting situation of the loop, and outputs a detection signal to the sleep supply controlling part 12 at the time of detecting that the loop is not connected. The sleep supply controlling part 12 receives this detection signal, and instructs operation stop to the transceiver (Tx) 10 and the receiver (Rx) 11. Thus, the large power consumption of the transceiver and the receiver can be saved.</p>
