PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the reader for double side original by which both sides of an original are read as required even when the size of the original is comparatively large. SOLUTION: The reader is provided with an original carrying means 16 that carries an original 12 through a prescribed carrying path 14, a 1st optical means 42 that reads one side of the original 12, a 2nd optical means 58 that reads the other size of the original, and a light receiving means 54 to read an original image. Then the 1st optical means 42 leads a reflected light of one side of the original from a 1st read area 38 to the light receiving means 54 through a 1st optical line 56 and a 2nd optical means 58 leads a reflected light of the other side of the original from a 2nd read area to the light receiving means 54 through a 2nd optical line 68, and the carrying path 14 and the 1st and 2nd optical lines 56, 58 are not substantially crossed with each other. |
