PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate copying operation and to shorten a copying time by reversing the subscanning direction of a scanner and also reversing the main scanning direction thereof and performing copying in the case of copying of the back surface of an original. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a function for successively feeding recording paper while automatically reversing the front and the back surfaces thereof and performing double-sided copying on the recording paper. By reversing the subscanning direction and the main scanning direction of the scanner every time the surface to be copied of the original differs, image data read from the surface to be copied of the original by scanning is recorded on the front and the back surfaces of the recording paper. Therefore, need for reversing and setting the upside and the downside of the original every time the surface of the original differs is eliminated. Image sensors for scanning in two normal and reverse directions are used as a method for reversing also the main scanning direction when the subscanning direction is reversed. Namely, the device is provided with a condensing lens 14, a half mirror 17 branching image data being reflected light from the original in bisecting directions, the image sensor for normal direction scanning 15A and the image sensor for reverse direction scanning 18. |
