PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the current position of a vehicle along a road drawn in three dimensions even if the positioning accuracy in the direction of height is low by calculating the altitude of a vehicle according to the altitude data contained in map information at the time of superposing the vehicle position on a three-dimensional map displayed according to a three-dimensional map information. SOLUTION: A navigation device comprises a processing part 34 including a current position calculating part 51, a position correcting part 52, a data reading-in part 53, a visual point setting part 60, and a display processing part 61. When the current position of a vehicle is updated, the position correcting part 52 calculates the position on the two-dimensions according to the current position data obtained by the current position calculating part 51 and the peripheral map data obtained through the data read-in part 53, and calculates the altitude of the vehicle from the altitude data on the map data according to the position by a designated method. The obtained three-dimensional coordinates are given to the display processing part 61 to obtain an image in which the vehicle position is superposed on the three-dimensional display map according to the setting in the visual point' setting part 60. |
