PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the device which can make a color display of high quality without causing any loss of a pixel potential by providing a reflecting plate which nearly covers the front of an array substrate, a color filter, and a light- transmissive electrode on the array substrate in this order and electrically connecting the light-transmissive pixel electrode through an opening. SOLUTION: The cell part of the liquid crystal display device 10 consists of the array substrate 20, a counter substrate 80, and a liquid crystal layer 90. On the array substrate 20, the reflecting plate 50, color filter 52, and light- transmissive electrode 54 are laminated in this order. The light-transmissive electrode 54 is connected to the electrode 36 of a thin film transistor element through the openings bored in the reflecting plate 50 and color filter 52. With this constitution, a signal potential can be applied to the liquid crystal layer 90 without being cut off with the color filter 52. Here, the reflecting plate 50 is constituted with the color filter 52 while insulated from the light-transmissive electrode 54. |
