PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a waiting time until original reading, to save power consumption, to attain the cost-down of a lamp and a lighting circuit, and to attain the miniaturization of the device by automatically deciding the control of the preliminary lightening of a lamp such as a thermal cathode ray tube according to a use situation such as a time, day, and date. SOLUTION: A date and time is always read from a clock 6, and compared with a preliminary lighting on time zone registered in RAM 9 in a waiting state. That is, a present time is read from the clock 6, and whether or not preliminary lightening is being operated is checked. Then, when the preliminary lightening is not being operated, whether or not the present time is present in the preliminary lighting on time band is checked, and when it is present in the on time zone, the preliminary lightening is started with a duty rate registered in the RAM 9. Also, when the preliminary lightening is not being operated, whether or not the present time is present in a preliminary lightening off time band is checked, and when it is present in the off time band, the preliminary lighting is stopped. This operation is repeated in the waiting time so that the on/off control of the preliminary lightening can be controlled in the time zone, and power consumption can be reduced. |
