<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore video images with relatively excellent image quality even in the case that a reception state is deteriorated in the receiver of digital broadcasting signals including encoded video data composed I (intra-frame encoded) pictures, B (inter-frame forward direction predictive encoded) pictures and P (inter-frame bidirectional predictive encoded) pictures. SOLUTION: This digital broadcasting receiver 1 is provided with a reception state judgement circuit 10 for judging the normal/defective condition of the reception state of the digital broadcasting signals, an MPEG decoder 8 for executing decoding to received signals, a frame buffer circuit 9 capable of storing decoded image data and a control circuit 11 for controlling the read of the decoded data stored in the frame buffer circuit 9 and preparing a series of the decoded video data. In this case, when the deterioration of the reception state is judged, in a period until the reception state is recovered, the control circuit 11 reads the decoded data of the I pictures from the frame buffer circuit 9 instead of the decoded data of the B pictures and the P pictures.</p> |
