PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid interruption in an image output at changeover by switching a video source at a boundary of a time slot in the case of switching the video source by a receiver side of the digital signal transmitter-receiver. SOLUTION: A plural program multiplexer section multiplexes packets configuring group of picture(GOP) of each video source into time slots of a prescribed length as shown in figure. That is, the packets are multiplexed in a way that one time slot has one GOP data of each video source. In the case of selecting a video source 2 from a video source 1, a multiplexer/demultiplexer section switches the sources at a border of time slots. Since the GOP of each video source is contained in respective time slots, the GOP of the video source 2 is started immediately after the packet including the GOP of the video source 1 is finished without fail. This is similarly conducted in the case of switching between optional video sources.
