PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system and an optical transmission device which transmit an optical signal through a high frequency carrier by using a narrow band optical fiber. SOLUTION: Beams from a semiconductor laser 30 are branched by a coupler part 58. The beams cause black reflection because of a SAW 300 that is generated by a SAW transducer 70 on a piezoelectric base board 80 and is made incident on an optical fiber 20 after joining to an optical waveguide 37. A photodetector 32 detects a beat signal that accompanies wavelength change caused by the SAW 300. An optical signal with the beat signal as a carrier is detected by modulating a frequency of the SAW 300. This offers an optical transmission system and an optical transmitter which transmit optical information through high frequency carrier even by using a narrow band optical fiber. |
