PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image maker which can set the drive torque optimally, according to the scan mode, without changing the number of divided steps of microsteps. SOLUTION: An excitation signal producing circuit 202 issues an excitation signal which becomes the basis geared to the setting speed, and outputs it to each AND circuit 204, and also, a microstep producing circuit 203 gets the data on the number of divided steps of microsteps, the maximum drive current, and the percentage to the maximum drive current at each step being set for every scan mode from a current/ PWM control circuit 205, and decides the number of times of generation of the chopping signals in each divided step cycle, and outputs it to an AND circuit 204, and performs microstep drive. In this case, the waveform of the microstep is changed, according to the scan mode, so the stepping motor 36 is driven with the drive torque geared to each scan mode. |
