PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load for arithmetic processing on travel control or the like in a curve. SOLUTION: By means of a road shape computing storing device 34, road shape data are read out from a map information data base 32, and on the basis of the road shape data and a vehicle speed or the like, warning, speed reduction control and the like are carried out in an advancing time to a curve. In this process, the road shape computing storing device 34 reads out the detailed road shape data from the map information data base 32 only when it is necessary in compliance with the road shape. Therefore, a load for arithmetic processing can be reduced. For example, when a safety passage speed is lower than the present vehicle speed in a curve or the like, the detailed road shape data only for this part is acquired, and on the basis of the acquired road shape data, speed reduction control or the like is carried out. |
