PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the coloring of a front glass substrate, even when silver is used in an electrode material by making a metal electrode out of silver under a condition that an amount of Fe2 O3 of the front glass substrate of a plasma display device, which provided with the metal electrode between the front glass substrate and a back glass substrate which are opposite to each other, is adjusted to be less than a specific value. SOLUTION: A content of Fe2 O3 in a front glass substrate used in this plasma display device, is less than 2,000 ppm, and a metal electrode is made of silver. The front glass substrate used in this plasma display device has low content of Fe<2+> ion, and a silver electrode is formed on the surface in a following process, so that coloring can be inhibited because the reduction amount is low even when Ag<+> ions diffused from the silver electrode, are diffused into the glass. Accordingly silver which is easily reduced and colloidized, can be used as the material for the metal electrode, and the electrode can be formed by screen printing with low cost. |
