PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fix a coated optical fiber in such a type that a coated optical fiber is exposed by tearing a batch coating with two tension members in a stable state without exerting any adverse influence on the coated optical fiber. SOLUTION: This tool is equipped with a base member 13 and a pressure member 15 which grip two tension members 5 separated by tearing the batch coating of an optical cable 1. The coated optical fiber 3 exposed by tearing the batch coating is run over the pressure member 15, which has projections 29b and 29b formed to hold the two tension members 5 in a two-pronged shape by being put between the two tension members 5.
