The invention concerns a data processing device comprising a database management system (470), capable of co-operating with an operation system to enable the user to create/acquire and/or use a database including at least a data table (475) that can be broken down into lines and columns. The invention is characterised in that the device further comprises: an autonomous meta-dictionary (510), dynamically storing selected data related to the structure of each database table, and relationships between tables; analysing means (530) capable of determining and memorising at least temporarily a representation of groups of interrelated columns; and a restructuring module (580, 590) co-operating with the analysing means and the meta-dictionary to produce for the user a presentation of the data taking into account at least such a group of interrelated columns.
