The invention concerns the use of direct or indirect selective inhibitors of the Xa factor acting via antithrombin III, on their own or combined with one or several compounds with platelet antiaggregating activity, for preparing medicines for preventing or treating arterial thromboembolism. The invention also concerns pharmaceutical compositions containing one or several direct or indirect selective inhibitors of Xa factor acting via antithrombin III in association with one or several compounds with platelet antiaggregating activity, and, optionally one or several pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
