The invention relates to a method and to a base station for radio communication with a mobile component according to a TDMA format. The base station is fitted with a device (3) for detecting whether other systems are active in the send/receive range and optionally detects the relative time lags in the time slot for each of the other systems which are active in the send/receive range in relation to the base station. The base station also has a device (4) for storing the relative time lags detected. Subsequently, the time position of the base station time slot is displaced by a device (5) to minimize the sum of the detected time lags stored in device (4).
