The invention relates to compounds which delay the release of active substances. The invention also relates to a method for the production thereof. The compounds are produced, for instance, by wet or spray granulation, spray drying or extrusion of a conventional filling material (e.g. microcrystalline cellulose or lactose) and a carrier material (hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose or polyethylene oxide). The inventive composition can be processed together with the active substance and other auxiliary agents into a solid medicament form, e.g. a tablet, which releases the active substance in a delayed manner.
