The method uses a computer (1) connected to the monitor (60). This computer has a microprocessor (10) coupled to a video display card (50) and a memory (52) that is used to store a number of display parameters that relate to different display arrangements. When a change is required the parameters are transmitted over the bus (70) that connects with the monitor (60). This has a controller (62) coupled to a D/A converter to apply controls to the monitor deflection circuitry.
