The meter has a vane wheel driven by the water in a casing. A meter unit containing a roller counter mechanism is arranged in a separate casing and is driven by the vane wheel through a magnetic coupling and an electrical sensor actuated by the roller mechanism. The electrical sensor delivers pulses to a digital circuit which generates a measurement signal for transmission to the central point. A centrally arranged carrying tube (8) formed on the base plate (3) of the meter unit capsule (1) has a fitting (11) on its top. A printed circuit board (14) and the base plate of the roller counter mechanism (30) are mounted to a fitting on the top of the fitting.
