The method involves evaluating the data in the form of tone signal or MIDI data with respect to listener experience correlated characteristics. The evaluation is displayed using a suitable display. The acoustic data are detected and passed in computer readable form, or MIDI data are detected. A value-time function is applied to at least one of the amplitude, tone height and tone duration. Multi-dimensional processing of the functions is performed with respect to defined pages of a musical experience by detecting coarse and fine sequences of the music by introducing a time interval dependent parameter. A result matrix of weighted parameters is formed and selected longitudinal or cross sections or the entire matrix are displayed.
