A single specimen nail (38) is clasped between two thin transparent plastic shells (42, 46) as part of a clamshell package (20) with an informative printed card (24) clasped between the two shells. The package has a finger cavity (72) for a customer's finger which allows positioning of the finger immediately adjacent and beneath the specimen nail. The specimen nail is clasped in an arched transparent compartment (70), thereby allowing the customer to view the specimen nail positioned over a finger for size and acceptance testing.
