The aircraft seat has an angle setting device (10), in which the backrest (12) can be turned about a turning axis (14) relative to the seat part (16). The position of the turning axis can be brought out of a region between the backrest and the seat part by a lever drive (18), so that the turning axis is at a height of the passenger's hips. As the angle of the backrest increases, the angle setting device acts with the lever via a seat setting device (20) so that at least the lower region (22) of the seat part is lowered.
