The passengers and/or their luggage during transfer are subjected to one or more procedural stages which up to now are carried out at check-in, security check and information points at the destination. In a coach of a rail vehicle, in or close to the area of at least one entrance, there is at least one automated check-in facility for air passengers with hand baggage. The coach at both ends has access (7) for luggage carrying passengers from adjacently coupled coaches.
