The damper has a transmission member at the driving side and on which an inertia-weight support turns in relation to it. The weight is on the driven side of the latter and towards a friction clutch plate, with whose friction lining it is in contact. The weight (36) protrudes at least partly into mating recesses (42) in the support (77) and which are situated at intervals in the peripheral direction. Connecting portions between adjacent recesses join the outer portion of the support accommodating the weight on the driven side to the inner portion. These can form a positive mounting for the weight in the peripheral direction on the support, and they can incorporate axial indentations fitting in mating recesses in the weight.
