Medical device with control and interchangeable components

The medical device has a control (11) provided with a code reader (2,4,6,8,10) for scanning a specific code carried by each interchangeable component (1,3,5,7,9), for corresponding configuration of the control circuit for the device. The code may be provided by mechanical, electrical, electro-optical, acoustic, or magnetic code elements, acting as a transponder upon interrogation by the code reader.
