<p>A method for the treatment of waste material such as cellulosic material and a nitrogen containing waste material wherein the cellulosic material is subjected to an initial storage at a temperature of between 50.degree.C and 68.degree.C and subsequently, a nitrogen containing waste material is added thereto and the mixture is passed through first and second treatment zones while supplying oxygen thereto. Thermophile bacteria act on the mixture and the material may subsequently be used as a fertilizer.</p> |
