The system applies to robots for finishing work on components by means of laser and is composed of a CCD camera and an illumination system which are mounted permanently on the focusing torch coupled to the robot's arm, the camera being arranged parallel to the torch, while the illumination system is arranged perpendicularly to said camera, a beam splitter therefore having to be fitted, together with mirrors and lenses which are suitably oriented so that the light emitted by the illumination system passes via the nozzle of the torch, illuminating the work area and reducing the image to the camera via the actual optics of the robot's laser. <IMAGE>
