CONSTITUTION:An arm rotary angle detection means 30 detects the amount of rotation of an arm 12 and a load detection means 48 detects the load on a polishing brush 14. A computing portion 38 calculates an axial compressive load Fa on the polishing brush 14 from data detected by the load detection means 48 and computes the amount of correction for the amount of rotation of the arm 12 according to the result of comparison of the value Fa with a preset reference value Fw. Further, an arm motor drive control portion 40 drives and controls an arm motor 46 according to the computation result of the amount of correction by the computing portion 38 so as to correct rotation of the arm 12. As a result, the pressing force of the polishing brush to a surface to be polished can be automatically adjusted.
