Clutch mechanism in a gear transmission of a timepiece

The gear train (1) links together the driving motor (3) of the watch, and the minute hand (2). The gear train comprises an intermediate wheel (4) in contact with a pinion (9) carried by the rotor (10) of the motor (3). It includes a wheel (5) which is detachable from this train in order to interrupt the movement and stop the movement of the hour display hand and the minute display hand. The detachment of the wheel (5) takes place when the time setting shaft (8) is pulled out into its adjusting position (21). The detachable wheel is subject to a translational movement which extracts other wheels (4,6) from the train. The axes of these wheels remain parallel to each other while being translated.
