A printing machine comprises a sheet or web feed, printing units each consisting of a printing plate cylinder (9) with inking and moistening mechanism (10, 11), at least one printing image transfer element constructed as an endless belt (7) in contrast with a sheet or web guiding cylinder (4.1) and receiving images from the nip between end printing cylinder and an associated counter-pressure cylinder (12), a varnishing mechanism (36), which co-operates with a countercylinder (15), a first drier (37) arranged upstream of the printing unit(s) and a second drier (38) downstream of the printing unit(s). The varnish adheres to belt (7) after drying with first drier (37), printing ink penetrates slightly in the following printing units and the layers of varnish and ink attach to sheer or web after passing second drier (38).
