Binder based on waterglass solution, process for its preparation and its utilisation

A binder based on water glass solution is made of granulated materials forming skin pores. The water glass solution contains silica sol. Also claimed are: (A) the production of the binder by mixing pyrogenic silicic acid or precipitated silicic acid with water to produce the silica sol; and (B) the production of mouldings from the above granulated materials using the binder, in which the materials or the moulding made from them are subjected to a hot process together with the binder.
