The assembly comprises a first member (1) a second member (2) and a third member (3) supported and located within a housing (4). The first member is pivotally attached to the second member at a first point (5). The second member is pivotally attached to the third member at a second point (6) and the third member has a peg (7) which engages in a slot (8) in the first member. Two tubes (9,10) are fixed to a corresponding assembly at the other end of the tubes to provide a guard frame. The entire guard mechanism is supported below a surface (11) to be guarded. In use the frame moves from a first stowed position to a second guarding position by sliding out substantially parallel to the surface and then rotating up to a locked position inclined with respect to the surface. |
