In a plasticized polyvinyl chloride composition up to 35% of the plasticizer used is an alkyl aromatic hydrocarbon prepared by alkylating toluene with a pentamer of propylene, said product having a boiling range of 560 DEG to 700 DEG F. The primary plasticizers specified are dioctyl phthalate, tricresyl phosphate, dibutoxyethyl phthalate, butoxy glycol phthalate and dibutyl sebacate. In examples polyvinyl chloride extrusion resin, calcium carbonate filler, titanium dioxide, barium/cadmium stabilizer, dioctyl phthalate and the alkylate are blended and milled. |
