An auxiliary deflection coil (42-45) is used for additional, high frequency deflection of the electron beam. The housing is locked onto the image tube neck by a clamp ring (40). The clamp ring is made of non-metallic material and is used as a carrier for the auxiliary deflection coil, which is set relative to the line deflection coil in the tube axial direction in a neutral zone in which it is equally penetrated by opposed magnetic force lines of the line deflection coil.
