PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for resetting the position of a vehicle itself and the selection of a map when the map is switched and to improve usability by displaying one map and th position of the vehicle itself on a display means, and automatically selecting the map displayed on the display means based on positional information about the position of the vehicle itself. CONSTITUTION:A map information output means (a) can store at least two types of map information, and outputs required one type of map information M. New map information M including positional information corresponding to the position of the vehicle itself which is displayed on the map is outputted to the display means (b) from the map information output means (a), a position displaying/moving means (d) is included to display the position of the vehicle itself on another map displayed on the display means (b) based on the position information. The map displayed on the display means (d) is automatically selected by a map information selecting means C based on the position informa tion about the position of the vehicle itself, and this position is displayed on the map. Thus, the position of a vehicle itself, etc. are not needed to be reinitialized when a map to be displayed is switched. Thus, operability is im proved. |
