PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new gene bis, comprising a Bcl-2 interacting protein gene, having a specific amino acid sequence and capable of coding a protein having binding properties to Bcl-2 and useful for diagnosis, prophylaxis, therapy, etc., for various diseases associated with the cell death. SOLUTION: This new Bcl-2 interacting protein gene bis contains a base sequence capable of coding any protein of a protein composed of an amino acid sequence represented by the formula and a protein, composed of an amino acid sequence in which one or plural amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence represented by the formula and having binding properties to Bcl-2 and is useful as an index to the diagnosis, propylaxis and therapy for various diseases and morbid states associated with the cell death. The gene is obtained as a cDNA of the nearly full length size by screening a human B cell cDNA library with an anti-human Bcl-2 protein and screening the same library with a cDNA of the resultant positive clone as a labeling probe. |
