Float 9 is attached to the skimming body and ahead of it, and a damping body 1 partially immersible ahead of the inlet opening is pivotally connected at 3 to the skimming body and has a portion 1a extending substantially parallel to the surface of the water. Damping elements 5, 6 mounted on the scavenging vessel are connected to the damping body 1 to reduce the effect of wave action on it. |
