PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new secretory protein ligand having any role for prevention, amelioration and cure of functional diseases or diseases including heart disease, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, renopathy, obesity, insulin-resistant diabetes and central nervous system disease, but not being restricted within these diseases. SOLUTION: This ligand is a secretory protein ligand (ATG-1709) for 7-TM receptor fizzled family, containing the amino acid sequence of the formula. The ligand can be produced by recombinant DNA techniques from the polypeptide ATG-1709-encoding polynucleotide obtainable from a cDNA library induced from the mRNA in human intestine cells by the standard cloning and screening techniques through the EST analysis. |
