<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the sheet profile of each stand of a tandem rolling mill without using a profile meter, and to enable the fine profile control of each stand. SOLUTION: The profile meters are installed on the inlet side of a first stand and the outlet side of the final stand of the rolling mill 1. The mechanical profile change of a work roll, caused by an actuator operation, is calculated by a mechanical change profile model calculating mechanism 6 as the function of the change of each operation quantity by a sensor 3. A thermal crown quantity by the thermal expansion of the work roll, is found from the measured values of plate thickness, rolling load and roll gap by the sensor 3 by a thermal crown calculating mechanism 7. From the fluctuations of these mechanical profile change and the thermal crown quantity, the work roll profile of each stand, that is, the sheet profile on the outlet side of the stand is estimated. Further, an influence coefficient of the sheet profile at the outlet side of each stand on the final stand, is learned by a learning mechanism 9, and it is used as a control parameter.</p> |
