PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient and effective cleaning of air as an existing device is utilized by a method wherein a filter to purify air passing through an air- conditioning unit is disposed, and a control means is provided to perform purification processing of air by the filter on the basis of the generation of a remaining smell after an engine is stopped. SOLUTION: When a detecting signal for an engine stop is inputted to a control device 14, a power remaining amount of a battery detected by a battery sensor 12 is read and when the power remaining amount exceeds a given threshold, pollution levels detected by gas sensors 13a-13d for inside air and a gas sensor 10 for outside air are read. When the pollution level exceeds a first threshold 1, a blast fan 4 is driven. Further, when the pollution level of outside air is high, circulation of inside air is effected, and when the pollution level of inside air is high, outside air is introduced. Polluted air is purified by a filter and blown off in a car. But, when the pollution lever exceeds a second threshold 2, a blast mode is switched an intervals of a given time to vary an air flow and air in a car is uniformly purified.
