Process for manufacturing substitute peat and compost starter adapted to this process

Preparation of a peat substitute to improve soil quality comprises mixing chopped wood, 2 kg/m<3> urea and 10 vol.% first starter, storing, adding 25 g/m<3> of a second starter and composting over a long time period. The first starter is a fungus substrate, where the fungus has been grown through cellulose material, and the second starter is a compost starter.
