PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new DNA comprising a double-stranded DNA containing a specific base sequence and encoding a polypeptide having the activity of human protein C, and used for producing the protein useful for treating thromboembolic disorders, disseminated intravascular coagulation, cancers, etc. SOLUTION: This new DNA compound is architected from a double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid containing a code chain of the formula (A is deoxyadenyl; G is deoxyguanyl; C is deoxycytidyl; T is deoxythymidyl) and encoding a polypeptide having a human protein C activity, and is used for producing the protein C which participates in a main physiological mechanism related to an anticoagulant action and which is useful for the prevention, treatment, etc., of deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, acute myocardial infarction, disseminated intravascular coagulation, invasive cancers, etc. The DNA is obtained from a cDNA clone prepared from human liver mRNA encoding the activity of the human protein C. |
