<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a flatfish belonging at least to a disease-resistant or rapid growth species, provide the seed or grown flatfish and provide a process for breeding and culturing flatfish using the seed, preventing the genetic pollution of environment and disabling the reproduction of the fish at the distributed side of the seed. SOLUTION: A flatfish species having excellent character is produced by selecting a complete homozygote induced by chromosome manipulation to select an individual having excellent character preferably by using even an ordinary flatfish as a contrast, genetically fixing the excellent character and mating the fixed species with other complete homozygote or an ordinary flatfish. The selected excellent character of flatfish is at least disease-resistance and/or rapid growth. The objective species having excellent character is a species approved by carrying out the character evaluation of the issue of the flatfish belonging to the species by the experiment of the practical culture and production scale.</p> |
